Fittings for gauge holder brackets are required if the surface area of the connection piece of a measuring instrument is too small to be fixed securely with the clamp on the gauge holder bracket. The fitting is then mounted on the instrument connection (process connection) and, with its long shaft, provides sufficient surface area to firmly fix the clamp of the gauge holder bracket.
